Rookie Ball Round Up
As a father of two young boys that are absolutely obsessed with baseball, I stepped away from coaching high school baseball to start up Rookie Ball Round Up. The idea in mind was to give our toddlers a chance for exposure to the very basics of T-ball at a very early age. As it has been for my boys, the exposure is extremely beneficial, not just for their knowledge and skillset towards the game, but for coordination, fitness, team work, and learning skills. Not only is my mission to help kids in these areas of development, but more importantly give our kids an opportunity to fall in love with the game the same way I once did as a young child.
After coaching high school baseball in Louisiana for 7 years (four as an assistant and three as a head coach) I stepped away in 2024 to start Rookie Baseball Round Up. While the thrill of competition is different, the opportunity to coach future baseball and softball players and watch them learn and develop a love for the game is an absolute blessing. A Rookie Ball Round Up coach may not be a child’s last coach, but for most, we have the privilege of being their first—and that’s something we take great pride in!
Baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing in Chandler, Arizona, earning 1st Team All-District honors twice at Chandler High School and competing in the Arizona High School All-Star Game. I continued my career at Mesa Community College, where I was a 1st Team All-State selection, before receiving a full scholarship to Southeastern Louisiana University. At SLU, I was a part of two conference championships, played in a regional, and earned 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Region honors. After college, I played professionally for three seasons before transitioning into coaching.
